As we head into week 6, there are still many uncertainties and questions surrounding many teams. This week should help answer those questions. The 49ers and Eagles have tough defenses to face this week as well. Will they stay undefeated? Read below to find out.

Thursday, October 12

Chiefs 24, Broncos 17

Kansas City has done a nice job feeding Isiah Pacheco the ball this season in the run game. They should continue that against a historically bad run defense. The Chiefs still have some issues to figure out with their receivers but they may not need much production from the passing game in this one anyway. If Denver wants to end their 15 (!!!) game losing streak to the Chiefs, they need to control the clock and take some long touchdown drives to keep Kansas City off the field.

Ravens 20, Titans 13

Both of the Ravens losses this season have been extremely close, excruciating losses. They need to stop finding ways to lose these winnable games going forward. The Titans are one of the more confusing teams in the NFL right now. They are 2-0 at home but 0-3 on the road. They are good enough to compete because of good coaching but they have too many limitations to win consistently. The Ravens defense has played well this season and should limit this Titans offense and win the final London game this season.

Falcons 30, Commanders 20

The struggles of the Commanders defense has been jarring this season. The secondary and rookie CB Emmanuel Forbes in particular have been picked on and has struggled mightily. Desmond Ridder played very well last week and should be able to continue his strong play this week. Meanwhile, the Commanders need to establish a run game early to keep some of the pressure off Sam Howell.

Bears 27, Vikings 23

Don’t look now but the Bears offense is starting to roll with Justin Fields playing much better. Fields and DJ Moore have established quite a chemistry and face another forgiving defense. The Vikings should be able to score but it will be tough with the absence of Justin Jefferson. Jordan Addison and KJ Osborn need to step up their games in this game and moving forward.

Seahawks 27, Bengals 24

Are the Bengals back? This week will be a big test to learn more. Joe Burrow looked more healthy last week but now gets to face a defense that had 11 sack the last time they took the field. The Bengals need to give Burrow time in the pocket because there are some holes in Seattle’s secondary to exploit. The Seahawks have a balanced offense that will ultimately get them the road win.

49ers 20, Browns 13

The 49ers offense has been unstoppable this season and now gets to face a formidable Browns defense. The Browns secondary has better CBs equipped to cover the 49ers WRs. Myles Garrett is going to need to have a big day to disrupt Brock Purdy and the rhythm of this 49ers offense. Even if Cleveland slows down the 49ers offense, it’s hard to trust Cleveland to score against them even if Deshaun Watson plays.

Saints 24, Texans 16

The Saints offense finally woke up last week. Derek Carr looked good and they got the running game going. They need to continue their ascent this week against a scrappy Texans team. The Saints defense has been really good this year and will have a challenge against a good receiving core. I think they force CJ Stroud into some mistakes and get a second consecutive road win.

Jaguars 27, Colts 17

It’s the Gardner Minshew revenge game! Unfortunately, I don’t think he gets the win due to the play of this Jaguars defense. The Jags run defense has been stout this season and get a big test with the Jonathan Taylor/Zack Moss combo coming to town. Without the threat of Anthony Richardson, they can slow down the run game a bit. The Jaguars offense is starting to heat up as well and should continue that this week.

Dolphins 33, Panthers 17

The Dolphins offense just continues to pile up the yards and points. That continues this week as they get out to anther big lead and the Panthers score some points late. For Carolina, they need to see continued growth from Bryce Young. He needs more help from everyone around him for him to improve.

Raiders 23, Patriots 18

This is a rematch from last year’s crazy game in Las Vegas. The Patriots need to figure out something to get their offense playing somewhat competently. But even if the offense improves a bit, I’m not sure their defense can make enough stops to win games with the injuries they have had. With the way the Raiders defense played this past Monday night, they will be able to get some more turnovers in this one.

Buccaneers 23, Lions 20

The Lions have been playing great as of late, but I see Tampa Bay getting a win coming off their bye week. Their defense has held up well and I think they can limit the Lions strong run game. Baker Mayfield needs to continue his strong play at QB and keep the mistakes at a minimum to help earn this victory. I still worry about the lack of a run game for the Buccaneers but their pass game has been good this season and will make enough plays this week to win.

Rams 30, Cardinals 20

The return of Cooper Kupp paired with the play of Puka Nacua makes the Rams offense a nightmare for opposing defenses. The Cardinals just allowed Ja’Marr Chase to go off on them and need to make defensive adjustments to slow down Kupp and Nacua in this game. The Rams young defense has had its struggles but has heled up better than I expected and now face a Cardinals team missing James Conner.

Eagles 26, Jets 20

The Eagles have looked good this season but not great. Their offense is settling for too many field goals right now, which could make this game interesting against a good Jets defense. The Eagles secondary is still giving up too many big plays, but I think that will be less of a problem this week. Their deep defensive line can get after Zach Wilson and force him into mistakes and force him to get rid of the ball quickly.

Bills 34, Giants 17

It’s hard to see this game being competitive with Daniel Jones banged up and Saquon Barkley presumably returning from an injury. The Bills have plenty of injuries on the defensive side of the ball, but will it even matter? The Giants offensive line has been a sieve all season and they don’t have enough difference makers at receivers. The defense hasn’t been very good either and will struggle to contain the Bills potent offense. Another blowout unfortunately for the Giants in this one.

Monday, October 16

Chargers 26, Cowboys 24

I have some major concerns about the Cowboys after last week’s performance. Their defense gave up way too many big plays and their offense just isn’t consistent enough in the run or pass game. With the Chargers coming off a bye and getting Austin Ekeler back in the lineup, they should have enough weapons to move the ball on Dallas. I’m still concerned with the Chargers defense but I think they can make enough stops against a Cowboys offense that has been very vanilla and not creative enough to challenge opposing defenses. The Chargers eke out a close one in a thrilling conclusion to week 6.
